Hello!

I have a friends that's looking for a laptop to play games and edit photos on.

Budget: 300-450 for a factory built laptop
Games/Apps: League of Legends/DOTA, The SIM, minecraft, Crysis 3, Battle Field (perhaps more graphic demanding games later on...), Twitch viewer (doubt they'd be streaming), Photoshop

Please let me know if you need anymore information!

Would any of you be able to tell me what parts should I be looking for when buying a laptop good enough to run the Games/Apps above?

Thanks!

For new definenly.

He can find a old Lenovo y500 on the bay of E or Craigslist for 450 though.
And run all of those games on meduim at least. League and dota on max.

You should look for one with an i7

You could probably get a 650m or 750m in sli ( 2 graphics cards in the same lappy) if you shop around

in general, google the graphics card and whatever games you're interested in and look at the frame rates. if the review doesn't even mention the graphics card, it's gonna suck.

You will have a bad time with an integrated graphics chip.

You 100% need an discreet graphics card.

For that price You can really only find that used.

Lowest mGPU I would even think about, would be a GTX 960m...and even at that, it'll probably ONLY get you in the door for games like these. I mean they won't be fun to play, but they might run.
