Aside from a few things I learned from my Comp Sci class, don't really know much about computers. But I decided to build one with a help of a technologically competent friend.
My budget is around $1000-1100, but I saw this deal:
http://slickdeals.net/f/8897435-cyberpowerpc-syber-sff-i7-6700-16gb-ddr4-3000-gtx-1070-8gb-512gb-ssd-1tb-hdd-wifi-ac-bt-450w-gold-psu-steam-controller-win10-1210-30-with-f-s?v=1&src=SiteSearch
I changed the PSU to 600W and it ended up costing about $1230.
It's a little above my budget, but the cost seems reasonable for a prebuilt.
I have two main concerns: Cyberpowerpc doesn't pay for returns, so if there's anything wrong with their stuff, it'll end up costing an arm and a leg. The case is really small, so I'm not sure how much room I have for upgrades in the future.
The pricing also seems oddly low when I compare it to all the other stuff on their site, so I'm hoping it's not some sort of pricing mistake.

Build your own.
Any other thoughts? I tried to build the same PC on newegg, and it came out to a bit more.
I also have access to a microcenter, but I haven't checked with their site for costs yet.

Here ya go...it costs a little bit more than that POS prebuilt...but it's got a better SSD, better everything really. On top of all that, it's overclockable and color matched.

Damn, that's a bit out of my price range. Even that prebuilt was outside of my price range, but the pricing was pretty good.
The prebuilt tells you the manufacturer of most of the parts unlike some prebuilts like Dell. What else is wrong with the prebuilt?

I could build the same exact comp on pcpartpicker, and it would be even cheaper...but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Here...same price, but still overclock-able, upgrade-able, better build...will last longer, and run with less problems.

/e You can wait for other ppls opinions, and builds (some will be a lot cheaper). But ALL on here will agree...stay away from prebuilts.

limited case space,
meh mobo
cant OC
most likely founders gpu
great PSU, but small so if there's any badass shit in the future that requires power, ull need to spend $$$ on new PSU, case to fit, etc.etc.
pretty much comparable to this build strictly to save money
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q9b7hq
but if u wanna spend about the same cost as that prebuilt
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/w2XKZ8
might as well keep it red and brack

I won't be overclocking, but the case and mobo do sound kind of crappy. I'll probably speak to my friend and see what he thinks.
Or maybe I'll just wait another month and pick up parts for cheaper when I see deals pop up.
Thanks for the help, guys.

Actually not a bad deal at all.
Only minus is there is probably not room for a proper cpu cooler if you wanna upgrade at some point.
