I have never built a computer before. Hopefully my limited knowledge won't hold me back.

Budget: $1800-ish canadian
More specific use (what games, what programs): D3, SC, Battlefield. Looking to run at max settings
Planned time until purchase: 3ish weeks
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes
Do you have any specific preferred components?: No
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Yes
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Not sure
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: ( Have logi 502 mouse. Need keyboard and single monitor)
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Canada, T3G3Y1

What are your preferences in case style? (lights, flashy, dull, etc): Lighting would be cool. Have never done before
Are you planning to use multiple monitors? No
Are you looking for upgrade-ability? No
Do you have any preferred brands? No
Can you reuse any components from an older build? (Mouse)
Is there anything else you think we should know?
Yes. I am still undecided if i will attempt to build, or get an estimate from someone at a computer store in my city.(Memory Express) If any advice plz lmk :P

Tried to keep in budget. Damn canda prices xD.
I guess you can wait for an rx 480 with aftermarket cooler. Will be like 120$ cheaper.

You can get cheap windows keys on kinguin.

Base Total: $1692.54
Shipping: $21.98
Total: $1714.52

lmk if ur gonna do mail in rebates, can make a build for that too.
though in 3 weeks none of these builds will matter as prices will change.
Mem express won't give you anything close to for the money

No real reason to get a Z series 170 mobo with a non-K series chip, unless you REALLY want the extra ram mhz...

Make sure you get a 144hz monitor and mech keyboard if you have a high budget like this. It's more than worth it.

1. not a z170 mobo
2. fits budget
3. mobo $ difference between h170 and z170 in canada aren't much, so yes it's worth spending few extra to get at least a minimum of 2400 than 2133.
4. it's not high budget for Canada, especially with everything needed aside from a mouse.

oh that makes more sense, confusing when quoted considering why he should opt for a 2133 when his budget fits for 2400minimum.

Indeed. And the prices on RAM is quite weird in Canda. Its only a 12$ difference on some weird brand 2133MHz to a pair of G.Skill 3000MHz. why i wen't with those.

I like your PC build. Tho i think a 144Hz 1ms is preferable over the 60Hz IPS you chose.
OFC the coloring should be better. But his only talking about gaming, 144Hz is really preferable over 60Hz in SC and BF.
Not liking the lowend none-mechanical keyboard either.
- High gaming PC, lowend gaming gear is really a turn off :)!

I agree. Orignally i wen't with the 6600k, but the budget couldn't hold it.
Its still quite cheap considering the other chipsets as well.

Can't recommend a mech Kb without knowing his preference for switches, preferable to purchase that later separately when he's srs abt it.

For monitors, considering he isn't playing competitive fps i suggest on quality visuals/colors for gaming as well.
