I have a friend who will sell me his mid 2015 macbook pro. 2.5 ghz I-7, 16 gb 1600 MHz DDR3, intel iris pro card+ AMD rad r9 M370X. etc etc. has bootcamp.
He cannot use this for his work anymore, and will let to go vs 1000$ Canadian. It retails at just over $3000

I so some gaming, some video editing, and quite a bit of office.

I am wondering if i could get something equivalent in around a $1000-$1200 range, or if the macbook is the best option.

Something like this would be significantly better:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834154111

but i don't know how taxes or shipping work for newegg canada.

There are "equivalents" for slightly less (60 or so dollars) but the gtx 960m is almost double the power of a 370x, so i don't think you'd want to skimp on 50-100 dollars to get half the power, though that is just me.

This is the search i used
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006741%20600029658%204814%20600003982&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=30

for some reason theres just a lot of poorly powered gpus right in the same price range. ignore 840m and 740m and the amd 360/370 for the most part, as again they are all weak relative to the 960m
