I currently use an acer laptop for playing games with these specs:

AMD A-Series Quad-Core A10-4600M 2.3 GHz (4 MB Cache)
6 GB DDR3 RAM
750 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
15.6-Inch Screen, AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7660G + 7670M Dual Graphics (2gb dedicated)

My problem has been that it gets too hot and shuts itself down while I'm playing (even while using a cooling pad) so I just want to get a pc. I don't need anything crazy though since I don't really play any games that are too demanding so I found a $300ish build that seems good enough

http://www.xtremegaminerd.com/build-a-300-beginner-gaming-pc/
Intel G3258 4 Pentium 3.20 GHz 3M Cache 2 Core Processor (BX80646G3258) $67.99 1
MSI Intel H81 LGA 1150 DDR3 USB 3.1 Micro ATX Motherboard (H81M-P33) $53.99 1
Corsair Vengeance Blue 4GB (1x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory $19.99 1
XFX PCI-Express Video Card R7-360P-2SF5 $96.99 1
Western Digital Caviar Blue 320 GB Bulk/OEM Hard Drive 3.5 Inch, 8 MB Cache, 7200 RPM SATA II WD3200AAJS $22.01 1
EVGA 430 W1 80+, 430W Continuous Power, 3 Year Warranty Power Supply 100-W1-0430-KR $26.99 1
Rosewill Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case with USB 2.0 Cases RANGER-M Black $34.99 1

Or would I be better off just getting something off of ebay and upgrading it? There are some on there for pretty cheap that seem like they only need a gpu and ram upgrade like this:
http://www.(%203bay%20)%20.com/itm/Lenovo-M90-Gaming-PC-Desktop-Intel-Core-i5-2-67-Quad-4-GB-250-GB-Nvidia-310-Wifi-/201588470603?hash=item2eef9bf34b:g:W24AAOSwUdlWdKzH
($150 shipped) Has a 2.67ghz i5, 4gb of ram, 250gb hard drive, Windows, and a 512mb geforce gpu which seems good enough as is but could be upgraded for cheap enough

sorry for the long post, and thanks

I'm not really trying to spend $500 on a build that doesn't have a gpu

It has an AMD 7000 series GPU built into the CPU. Later if you want, you can always add a GPU as well.
