Hello,
I have been recently admitted to a Graphics Design Bachelors programme where I will work with mostly Aftereffect, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Maya, Unity, Arena.

I was wondering what kind of laptop should I prepare that will last me at least 3 or 4 years.

Right now I have a 7 months old Lenovo Flex:
rocessor: Intel Core i7 2.6GHz
Ram: 8GB DDR3
HDD: 1TB HDD AND 8 GB SSD
VGA: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 740M 2GB
Display: 14'inch LED FULL HD
Camera: 2MP Webcam
Operating System: Windows 8.1
USB: 3.0
Color: White

Only one thing i dont really like about this one is the screen. In too much light you cant see anything.

So i was thinking to buy maybe a macbook because i know it would last for many years but im not sure about the specs.

Like 8gb Ram and at least i5 processor 13 ich screen?
128 ssd is enough?

Or any other recommendations?

Turn down brightness in nvidia control panel.
Would be pretty insane to change out a 7months laptop to a more expensive laptop with less processing power or equal for twice the price.
It should only be for the OS X. And I'm personally not impressed with that OS compared to win7 or 10.¨

Save your money.

You can probably get about $400, if you're lucky.

In other words, if you're considering a MAC...then consider it, whether or not you sell the laptop or not.

Yeah the laptop will be 300-400$ sell value.
I would diffidently go for a 15inch i7, 16GB RAM and at least 256GB storage. For adobe editing!

If you do prefer the 13". You need at least the middle one with the extra RAM options total: $1,699.00
But you should go for the first 15" for $1,999.00. Worth the ekstra 300 bucks.

From a price per performance I would really not recommend macbooks.
For half that price you would be able something similar. Even higher resolution, similar design and you would be able to game as well because of the GTX950 and OS.
