Recently had to get into my case to upgrade my Windows HD (http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=74336751&f=199 - thanks Ghot!) and it reminded me that A. It's fun to build computers and B. My rig is pretty old
So I'm looking for a new one especially with the new 1080 card coming out.
Need:
-Mobo
-Proc
-Ram
-1080 Gfx card
- Windows OS (lol is whatever the newest one is called best or older ones better for gaming?)
Bonus:
- A new modular power supply otherwise I have a 3 year old non-modular 750w "earthwatts" corsair one
- Soundcard if that makes a difference with my little Bose companion speakers or my beats headphones
- Liquid cooling if it's one of those idiot-proof self-contained type systems that is guaranteed not to break etc.
- Aftermarket proc fan/air cooling
Already have/dont need:
- 3 x 23' samsung monitors (may upgrade these to 3x 27" eventually/soon)
- 3x SSDs (windows, games, other programs) and 2x regular 7200rpm HDs for file storage
- NZXT Phantom full tower case & fans
- Optical drive
- keyboard/mouse/speakers etc
Uses/games:
- Multiboxing Eve Online and other games with 4+ instances, FPS games like counter strike, Fallout 4, Civ V (and VI when it comes out), watching TV on one screen
Budget:
- About $2,000 but it would be super cool if could get away with cheaper
Experience:
- I have built my last 3 gaming computers but am clueless about overclocking or anything advanced.
