1- what processor do you currently have?
2- what's wrong with your current computer?
3- you should fix it instead.

You have ddr3 ram I'm pretty sure you have a decent computer, and nothing that you buy with $500 will give you better than what you currently have.
But post your processor.

Hint: computers don't just broke to the point you have to build a new one, your illiteracy is making you waste money on something that you don't need.

1. Currently running an AMD A10-6800K
2. I have constant freezes such as Windows Not Responding. Videos not working, and just regular freezes on game menus, loading screens.
3. Literally been happening for months now, researching, changing parts still can't seem to find the problem. Another jsp member believed reapplying thermal paste would help. It did decrease the temp by 15-20 degrees but problem still occurs.

I would recommend saving up at least 800, preferably 1000.

That would give u i5 plus upcoming gtx 1070, or amds polaris comparable card

1-What is your power supply?
2-Did you ever change the power supply?
3-Download specify and post the screenshot.
4-Try separate ram sticks (try this last)
5-Reset your bios to optimized mode.
