Looking to get a better amd cpu. currently have a fx-8320

u pretty much have the best AMD cpu, just overclock it to at least match 8350
They stopped making CPU's, and only about to release new ones soon.

8320 is as good as it gets.

Take secksis advice for OC.

Also In terms of what it will run oc'd will it be as fast as a i5?

All i have for cooling is a 212 evo .
Would that even do the trick ?

Not really.

An Intel CPU running at 4Ghz is as fast as an AMD CPU running at 4.5Ghz. So even with an AMD CPU overclocked, it will be slower than an Intel clocked at the same speed.

Did AMD give up on making CPUs after the fx series?


i haven't read into it yet but i heard something about their next project "polaris" or something ?
is that gpu related or cpu related?

The next desktop CPU will be ZEN...early 2017 iirc.
Polaris is the GPU.
