Hey guys, I am looking to make some modifications to my computer, namely my graphics card so that I can run two monitors. I am wondering if there's anything I should/would need to do first. Can anyone here who knows more than me about hardware give me some recommendations? Thanks.

I know that I have two Graphics cards currently, but I really dont like crossfire and would rather just get one nice card than have two meh cards. Crossfire doesnt help at all performance wise for the games I play anyways.

Thanks again!

If your monitor is only 1600x900 max res, then a single GTX 970 or R9 390 will max out anything you play. If your monitor can go to 1080p, they'll still be able to max out most games.

Hell, a 960 or R9 380 will max at 1600x900.

Your crossfire disabled because it doesn't help?

What games do you play? At that resolution and those GPU's you really shouldn't struggle in 95% of games.

The GPU's really arent struggling, but I want to be able to run dual monitor and I'd like to get a new card for that. Right now I only play CS and may try overwatch in the future but I dont play anything that is crazy graphics intensive. I cant run dual monitor on my R9 (or can i?) but I would like to set that up for streaming CS games.

I'm mainly checking to see what GPU would be compatible/work well with my current setup and be capable of supporting two monitors. I dont want to buy a new nvidia only to have it not fit into my mobo or something like that.

Sorry I am pretty bad at computer. Thanks for replies.

My guess is hd7950/r9280.

The pic only indicates the series, not actual model.
