I been looking into 6600s w/ 390x.

Do you think for someone who will not overclock their PC ever the K series is worth it, or should they save and behave on the 6600 and h170 board.

The K series does not offer any benefits besides overclocking capability. So no. If you know you will not overclock then the k series is not worth it.

Figured as much. I want him to go intel cause of ddr4. AMD is nice for the money but feel like its backwards...
