So I bought fallout 4 for my pc but it kept crashing around 20 mins in, so I figured my computer needed some cleaning. I removed my cpu heat sink and realized I needed some thermal paste, and I also realized how shitty that pre-applied cpu cooler paste is.

So should I use something as a temp thermal paste until my tube gets here from newegg. I mean I put my old gpu in the oven before to reheat a sauntering issue.

There's nothing you can use as temporary. If you have a Best Buy nearby they usually have some form of thermal paste there.

I have seen that as well hehe , any thermal paste will do good , if you look at all the possible reviews there is like 1 degree difference , there is bigger difference when you use some high thermal paste but only if you apply directly on the chip meaning you have to de-lid it a process that I dont really recommend unless you are looking for extreme performance and wanna take the risk of ruining a cpu

curious why you would remove the cpu cooler in the first place without having thermal paste on hand.. I always put new thermal paste on if I remove a cpu cooler.

Heinz tomato sauce,.. it's silly but,. still,. they say it works.
Still, i can't really believe it's a great idea to put tomato sauce on your cpu - especially when temps might go 100C and boil out the water.
aside that tomato sauce is highly acidic and could damage the metal.

So, just don't.
