The only ethernet port on my MOBO has burnt out and I've had to purchase a USB ethernet adapter.

My internet works out for most of the time, but every once in a while it goes out for a split second or two. It wouldn't be anything but if I'm playing and DC at an important time 1 second is huge.


So my question is do you think this is a problem with the USB ethernet adapter and I could just get a new MOBO or could it be something else?

If you want a cheap fix, buy a PCI gigabit Ethernet controller.

Depending on your hardware (CPU/other parts) buying a new motherboard will be fairly expensive.

This, RMA if in warrantee though
