*i did not pick out or buy the parts, im simply putting them together*

Ok, so a friend wanted me to put together a build for his shop

problem is... ethernet will not work
list of things i've tried
installing the lastest bios / chipset drivers
several different ethernet drivers
disabling i217 port and trying to use the 210 (came up with no ethernet port in device manager)
reinstalling both network location awarness service (nlasvc) and base filtering engine (bfe)
fresh install of windows 4 times
TP-link ethernet card (will not show up in device manager) - TG-3468 (however, i have not tried any slot except PCIE slot 1)

Please, someone tell me i'm having a dumb moment and let me know a fix.

Build
i7-5820k with a evo 212 cooler
x99 classified eatx board
Quadro k4200
32g 2400 ram (4x8)
hyper x 240g ssd
asus dvd drive
evga 600w power supply
all in a thermaltake tower

/edit: if it just works on the ethernet card, thats fine. Everything else on this computer works like a dream, including the wifi adapter

Did you try another PCI-E x1 slot?

When you install Win 7, do you install w/0 any internet connection?

/e ....and why when your mobo has dual LAN chipsets, are you even messing around with a LAN card?

LAN Chipset
Intel I217

Second LAN Chipset
Intel i210

Max LAN Speed
Dual 10/100/1000Mbps

/e I would just call EVGA and ask...if you haven't already done that.

If you register the motherboard at EVGA first....and have the serial number ready when you call....you will get their top of the line Premium Tech Support (24/7).

Premium Tech support at EVGA is the best in the business. :)

Here's their number: 714-528-4500 ...just ask for tech support. When the tech support computer answers, one of the options should be for Premium Tech support. You will have to register the motherboard with them first.

You can register the motherboard here: http://www.evga.com/support/register.asp

did install windows with ethernet plugged in, but got no connection.

Its not registered, wasn't my purchase and was sent to us by mistake, all parts are compatible... but this mobo was a huge upgrade than the asrock we ordered. I do appreciate that advice though

messing with card because I'm trying to find out if its a cold day in hell and just both the ports are bad but the rest of the board is good

I suck at network stuff, but if you're getting the green light, maybe there is no data on the cable.

Maybe the problem is on the router end?

/e Did you install the motherboard LAN driver?

What does the network icon in the Task bar, over by the clock say?

Are you sure the Ethernet cable is good?
