Looking to spend upwards of $300 on a cpu and motherboard. It'll be paired with 16 gigs of ddr3 ram, 550w Seasonic PSU, and an asus 970.

The PC will be used for gaming like The Division, Black Desert, etc

I'm near a Microcenter, if that helps.

solid?

will be using a 212 evo to OC it

Newegg would be a bonus because I have $200 in gift cards to use..

550w would be cutting it close me thinks.

Then again I use a 3570k/MSI 970.

Can't oc the gpu due to power constraints

it's the G series and gold rated.. I think it'll be fine. I won't be doing crazy overclocking, as it's for a novice user.

I won't be overclocking the GPU. Only CPU

I was thinking about snagging another 4690k but I don't think it's worth it. I would have rather gotten skylake/ddr4 and give my cpu/mobo to my brother

Gold rated doesnt mean its going to let you use more than 550w

Its just how efficient the PSU is at converting it from 120v -> 12v.

550w is enough for a 970 setup, But when you start overclocking at all, it starts getting close to the limit of the PSU.
