Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?:no

was gonna just buy one randomly off new egg, amazon, or any other site where i find a random computer, but i figured i should post here and ask if you guys know of any decent computers for a decent price

Well to run almost all steam games ar decent settings you need something like an i5 + a gtx 970 or r9 390. Also a SSD will help give you a much better experience.
Thats totally within your budget if you build the computer yourself. But when i search on newegg.com for an i5 + a gtx 970 the cheapest one avalible is 1800$ which is a little overpriced in my opinion.

Maybe look around what you can find online.
Something like a i5 6600 / i5 4460 / i5 4490k as a processor is good. FX 8350 or higher might also be okay, but are not as good as the i5 for gaming.
as grafics card a gtx 970 or a r9 390 or are good options.
250gb ssd should be included at this price range.
