Just realized Intel won't work with an MSI motherboard?

I'm anticipating this on being my build, how does it look?

unless you plan on upgrading to a 4690k or 4790k later on there's no need to get a z97 board

might as well save a bit and get a h97 board https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97anniversary

or if you want msi https://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-h97pcmate

Well poop. I'm really wanting the red style. Would getting the z97 harm my computer any? What are the cons aside from price?

There's no cons to it. I believe that there is an H97 board in red and black

found it!

Meh, I know I'm sounding picky but I'd rather have msi, or the asrock, I just don't know how the boards will preform with my purchased parts.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Fair enough. I posted an Asrock board but, it's cool.

By the way the H97 Anniversary onl;y has 1 PCI-E slot for a GPU so if you ever want to Crossfire or SLI you won't be able to.

Good luck with your build.

Shit, I thought it was asus. I may end up getting it, it's the first I heard of it though so id like more input on it. I don't plan do crossfire or sli. I'm basically just stuck between the h97 anniversary or the z97, I'm not too concerned about the price, I'm only worried about performance.
I'm sorry if I offended you, that was my misunderstanding.

I'm not offended just a little confused.

If you were going to upgrade to an unlocked CPU then I would say go for the Z97. If just wanting it for the 4460 untill a complete rebuild, then an H97 will be ok. Only difference is the ability to overclock.
As far as performance goes, the Fatality is the better board between the 2 H97. Also, the Fal1ty can run higher RAM speeds then the Anniversary can. Don't go by Newegg's listings they aren't always right.
