Well, it would be nice if I could just get a new motherboard, but they don't seem to sell the lga 1156 socket boards anymore, so I need a new mobo and cpu.

Looking to spend under $400~ USD

currently have:
Geforce GTX 970
700W psu
8gigs ddr3 1600 ram

intel i5 760 @2.8ghz
BIOSTAR T5 XE LGA 1156 P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

So many decisions.

I'm thinking the second option is going to leave my computer more available to upgrades. I've had my current mobo and processor for almost 6 years now.
Do you think it would be worth it to pick up the new i7 6700k if I plan to do some video editing stuff in the future?

Oh, I already have a cpu cooler. Forgot to mention that in my original post

Planning to do "some" wouldn't be enough of a reason for me personally to justify a $100 price difference.
Totally up to you though

I would only do it if it's something you see yourself getting really into (video editing).

I would get an ssd long before choosing to get an i7 for those purposes as your money would be better spent in that category

I have 2 SSD's already, which is the main reason I need a new mobo, my old one is essentially making the ssd useless.

Thanks for the info!
