Okay, so here is my issue.

I bought a mini HDMI cable to connect a second monitor to my computer. Once i plugged in the hdmi, the monitor said "HDMI no signal". I thought this was a dual monitor issue, but no it won't detect the monitor even on its own when plugged into HDMI. It works fine by itself connecting DVI to VGA (gpu to monitor).

So, originally, the computer wouldn't detect 2 monitors, so I went into the bios and enabled some multi monitor setting. What do you know, now the computer has 2 monitors in the display menu.

Here is where my issue is.

Monitor 1 was the the monitor connected DVI to VGA.
Monitor 2 was the monitor connected to HDMI.

I set in the display settings "Display only on monitor 2 (HDMI)"

now I cannot get a display from either monitor because it is trying to use HDMI by default, but HDMI doesn't work.

Currently, I'm connected to the on board graphics but I cannot access my nvidia control panel.

The graphics card is a nvidia gtx 650.

Any help would be great please!

not helpful now but for the future.. changes to your display settings through windows at least, will revert after 20-30 seconds unless you click a second time to apply/accept the current settings.
not sure how you managed to get it to stick to a setting with no display unless the nvidia control panel let you do this.

I didn't quite understand if you actually changed primary monitor to HDMI from BIOS or from Windows.

If it was from BIOS, reset the BIOS by taking the battery out for a few seconds while your PC is powered down (google guides you with this).

If it was from Windows, have you tried booting in safe mode? If you get display there, all Nvidia control panel settings should be accessable through registry editing. You also should be able to use DDU to remove Nvidia drivers and their settings, if you wish to take that route.

Another, more tedious way would be to take the GPU out of the computer and run the computer on the integrated GPU (if you have one) and do any of the above.

Edit:
More questions to help us help you; Do you get display in BIOS? What is your CPU? Have you tried the mobo ports for display?
