I just got me new ssd in the mail today. got a 240g hyperx

So first and fore most I dont care if I lose everything.

what i wanna do, is put windows, and my boot files on teh sdd, and then the games i play most frequently.

Whats the best way to do this?

unplug ur hard drive,

plug ur ssd,
install OS

replug hard drive

Won't he get an annoying message that will ask if he wants to boot whether with the old HDD or the newly detected SSD?

Not if it its set as the primary boot drive.

Download it from the Microsoft site, mount to USB, use your windows 8 key

is there some where on my computer I could find the windows key? I had bought a pre built from new egg, because i didnt know anything about computers for a few 100$, now basically the only thing i havnt upgraded is the storage. but it came with windows 8 installed already

Should be a sticker on the side or top of computer with the key.
