Ok so I am piecing together a budget used/new build for my nephew.

I can get this for $30 shipped.
SanDisk-X110-1SSD-128-GB-2-5-SATA-III-Laptop-PC-Solid-State-Drive

Or they have these for 46 shipped.
Corsair Force LS 2.5" 120GB SATA III

The first one is used, second is new... The problem is they will be on a sata 2 mobo for now. Should I just splurge for the second being it's new and if there's any problems has a warranty, plus will perform better if I decide to upgrade mobo and cpu for my nephew. This is strictly for gaming on path of exile. The read speeds seem similar and both will be slightly bottle necked in the sata 2 slot. If I get the first one it will free up about $20 more for a better gpu.

I am receiving a i7-920 with this motherboard combo ASUS P6T SE LGA 1366 Motherboard, along with 6 gigs of gskill ram. And that is the setup that will be used for now. If he sticks with playing I will also be upgrading the mobo and cpu money permitting. So future upgradability also comes into play here.

I also have 130-150(depending which hd I get) for either a new or used gpu... I am stuck as to attempting to get a used radeon r9 or a new gtx... Any guidance there also?

personally I wouldn't get the sandisk.. I have had terrible luck with them. not to say it won't be good, but being it is also used would make me even more hesitant.
performance wise it won't be noticeable.. the only people that claim to notice are those that run benchmarks or are super anal about boot times etc.

cool thanks, the corsair is on sale on newegg for the price, guess I will purchase it tonight. Will have to keep my eye out for a good price on a gpu now. 120 left to spend on gpu for him.

that's not in my price range sorry bud. This is a used/pieced together rig for my nephew to play POE, not for a higher end bench marking rig.

Also think I found a gpu I will be picking up if I can win it for under 75$ So total cost on this build will be under 200$ and won't be able to complain one bit about it's performance per dollar.

Which gpu? :)

I am looking at 3 different gpus, one is a used his r9 280 iceq attempting to get it for 100$, second is xfx r7 265 oc which can hopefully be had for 50-75 and is new these are both ebay
The third is a new option for 90$ after rebate a powor color r9 270 from newegg

I can't decide I only have 100$ for a gpu here. It is also only for path of exile and nothing else.

Any help here guys? Which should I go for here? a used or a new, al have pretty similar performance, the 280 being the best. and the 265 and 270 being very close. Any insight here?
