Hello!

Im looking to build a gaming pc for my sister for christmas(i realize its too late to have it before christmas, but I want to buy the parts within the next few weeks when sales may be going on) she plays pretty much ever blizzard game and occasionally she'll play stuff on steam.

Budget: $800, maybe more
More specific use (what games, what programs): WoW, D3, HoTS, Overwatch, starcraft, steam: battlefield, cod, cheesy 2d games.
Planned time until purchase: Soon, within a month
Do you need an Operating System?: Yes
Do you have any specific preferred components?: Nope
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: No idea
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: No
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): California

Ive never actually built a pc for myself, I had an uncle who built all of mine for me but hes moved to the other side of the world and is hard to get in contact with and I have absolutely no idea what im doing.

Please help, thanks!

micro atx board in atx case.
ew

Haswell builds, i don't see too much of a benefit for going for skylake (assuming that you won't be upgrading parts in the pc you're building and with the assumption that it is a gift)
best bang for buck, with no upgrading down the road would be one of the following 2 builds atm
No overclock: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wyqZVn
Overclock: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fsnRrH
if you are going to be upgrading it, or she probably will, then i see the benefit of going skylake, however GPU would have to be 380x instead of the 390

bump this thread as it gets closer to time of purchase (2-3 days prior), prices change weekly, if not daily :)

/e also, just because it can overclock doesn't mean it's something you have to do off the bat!!

Going to have to agree with battle ship
The build can still be put together
You are saving little cash cuz one thing goes off sale when another goes on
Also if certain sales are now he may buy those parts now
Not everyone buys all at same time

What you guys are forgetting is that she won't be needing a 390 because she doesn't play any demanding or AAA games.
