His budget is around 300-500 cad.

Let me know your recommendations.

He wants to upgrade so he doesn't have to upgrade any time soon. The games he plays are:

He is also wondering if there's anything else he should upgrade at this time. I told him an ssd for sure to speed up his system.

Is there anything else that he needs or does he not need to really change anything other than an ssd.

Those games aren't that demanding, so he doesn't need to spend that much on GPU if he doesn't want to.
But i would agree, with a 970 or a 390. Currently as I look the 390 is cheaper and it performs a bit better, but I would get a 970 if it became cheaper.

As for other upgrades, absolutely SSD.

Past that he is really solid in terms of performance.
He could maybe add in something that makes his computer look cooler if he is in to that sort of thing, such as a lighted fan or something like that.

390x is $510 cad.
390 would be a great choice though. 970 is awesome too. Currently the geforce experience is a bit better then and crimson. Depends if ur a fanboy. Either or is fine. Or a 380x and ssd
