whats the thermal paste for?

i personally; have always scraped off the paste sheet that comes withthe stock heat syncs for the cpu, and apply my own.. i trusted the stock paste once, and had a cpu burn up in a week.. just my preference to take this extra step and put a higher grade paste.. to each their own i guess..

its been such a long time since i built a computer im hesitant to order a build.. i dont want to fuck something up

sounds like user error on the cpu burning up

U won't fuck up, especially if u made 1 before.

And ya the thermal paste thing above is mostly likely user error. Never in my life a cpu burned up on me nor it was cos of stock thermal paste lol
