Getting a monitor and an OS and a DECENT computer in Canada, really can't be done for $1000.

Just a decent comp, w/o the monitor and OS is gonna run close to $1100

Basically I'm just trying to find a build for my friend.

He's looking at this right now but I figured he can probably get something better

dont get stuff from openbox, it's pretty bad.

to fit a monitor and OS...
u got 2 options

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9932227&csid=_61&SRCCODE=LSCAN&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&utm_source=Linkshare&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CAqD7bLWUPI&AffiliateID=CAqD7bLWUPI-BLi2w9r7h8yEkyHjIHS2sw
$369.99, $259.99 after rebates (but it's TD mir so don't depend ur life on it, still fuckin cheap regardless)

throw away psu, buy good psu, gpu, monitor, OS.

option 2 is buy refurbs from http://www.nmicrovip.ca/
just need to snipe some good ones, like the ROG one would've been perfect for ur friend for $729 and he just needed to spend ~$200 on monitor.
I also suggest your friend gets a monitor from there too, like this one http://www.nmicrovip.ca/23-wide-ah-ips-frameless-16-9-1920x1080-2x-hdmi-vga-speakers-mx239h-refurbished/
1 of my friend bought 1 first, but he ended up just buying 2 more to make 3 lol
other friend bought 2. No complaints either
