I'm in the process now of making a new PC build.

I'm not good with PCs whatsoever and I have just recently started learning all the terms and all the jazz that goes into it.

So I want to have a 980 ti as my GPU but when searching I stumbled upon a large amount of variety when it comes to the actual 980 ti
Examples of what I saw:

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0+ 6GB
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB
ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti G1 Gaming 6GB
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB (GTX 980Ti 6GD5 V1)
Palit GeForce GTX 980 Ti Jetstream 6GB (NE5X98T015JBJ)
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning 6GB
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB (GTX 980Ti GAMING 6G GOLDEN EDITION)

Yeah you get.. basically theres plenty of 980 ti's and I'm not even sure what the difference is between each and every one & which one I'm actually supposed to purchase.

I'm just a clueless little noob I guess

Most folks have been getting the ASUS 980 Ti Strix. Me, I like to stick with EVGA, for their far above average customer and tech support.

Okay, but is there any difference there though or what?
Why are they not just called NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti?

Also I think I will get a EVGA one afterall since I've heard alot of good about it

But then, what would be the difference between these 3?
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SC+ ACX 2.0+ 6GB
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Classified ACX 2.0+ 6GB
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB

The different models all have different cooler designs, power delivery, and pcb layouts. Some will overclock better than others but there's still the silicone lottery at play. Some will run hotter than others as well. If you're into getting the highest overclock you can, definitely read some reviews and stuff, find out which model has the highest power limit, voltage cap, etc.

If you don't have internet to look at what the differences are, how can you post on d2jsp?

Evga has best customer service, but their coolers look like trash made in China cheapshit for a high end card.

Asus Strix looks sexy af, but it's huge like the Gigabyte's cards.

They're all the same card in the end, just with different "speeds" out of the box. Just either go with evga for customer support, or go for the looks.

Just make sure u go with evga acx/classified, Asus Strix, msi lightning/twin frzr, gigabyte g1 models instead of stocklike coolers.

From the 3 evga coolers u listed, ignore the bottom one cuz it's stock,
Classified allows you to OC more, but not really worth it if it costs over9000 more than the sc+ acx one
