Getting the wife a laptop it dosent have to be crazy bad ass just good enough where it can handle todays gaming and not retarded slow, my limit is 1000$.

I been looking around on these black friday deals and such on amazon but i been out of the game these last 5 years on the new hardware so idk whats good or not.

gtx 960m* for that budget.

everything else up to you.

edited. i was up too high. X) 960m is the best, affordable gpu at that price.

but if you do find a 970m for less than that, i'd jump on it.

I would second this one. for the price it would be really hard to beat.. like extremely.. lol I thought I got a hell of a deal when I got my laptop for $850. only difference was mine has i7, 16gb, and no ssd
