  • Between 600 and 800 Dollars
  • Path of Exile, Steam based first person shooters, and Adobe after effects 12 And photo editor 12
  • 3 Months Max, After Christmas at least.
  • Windows 10 (Genuine through Windows 8)
  • NviDia
  • I believe I might not need a sound or wireless card.
  • I currently use stock cooling, do not plan on overclocking
  • Already have external hardware.
  • Southeastern United states.

Additional information:

My current case is a medium I believe, because I use fans for cooling space is sometimes an issue. Some super large video cards or cooling components wont fit. I'm not too sure what else I'm going to need, if anything, besides a new video card (I'm pretty sure most of my other components are fine, power supply ram etc). I'm very open to new age cooling options, I tried liquid cooling right when it came out, I had to maintenance it very often so I went back to oldschool. I am also open as well as able to getting a larger case and moving everything as long as the case has good functionality.

One last thing. My current dvd drive does not function.

Don't ask for a build

prices and what is available will change drastically in 3 months

ask when you are closer to being ready to purchase

You basically need a new computer, you can re-use the RAM and hard drive, but you will need a new motherboard in order to get a good upgrade on the processor, you will need a bigger case to handle a better graphics card, and you will likely need a new power supply to handle it all

I'm not really asking for a build. I simply wasnt sure what I could keep and what needed to be replaced. Like you said, my motherboard and power supply would probably need to be and I didnt think that was the case.

If your case is small, grab a new larger one.
add a hyper 212 evo while youre at it so you can overclock your cpu.
overclock.
add gpu, gtx 970 (or 980 ti if you really want to, but quite overkill for 1080p gaming -- only bring it up because it fits your 800 dollar budget.)
call it a day.

Was looking at this for my card.

As far as my motherboard and case I'll know whether or not I need a new one. The power specs for this card however match the power supply I currently have which is one of the reasons I was thinking of going with it.

The heatsink you guys usually go with is a little cheap isnt it? There's nothing better for like 10-20 bucks more? I mean it's reviewed really well but still.

not really.
the evo is one of the best air coolers you can buy. any more money you spend will be small differences until you start spending significantly more like 80+
even then the differences aren't too much.

the card doesnt need too much power, so as long as you have 500watts or more you're good.
