it's either this or a 13 inch mbp

what you boys thinking?

the reason i'd hop on the asus train is if this laptop has a nice deal come black friday/cyber monday

what are the chances of that do you guys think?

PS: these are the 3 asus laptops that caught my eye, referenced in this article (http://www.ultrabookreview.com/8187-asus-zenbooks-skylake/)..if any of you think one is a cut above the other based on price/performance let me know

usage: examsoft, a lot of powerpoints, light gaming,

reqs: lightweight, SSD, windows OS, dedicated gpu would be nice, but is not a deal breaker.

I have had a zenbook for over 2 years now, and other than wanting an upgraded version (and not having the money for it) I love this laptop, it packs in a lot of features for the price. Slim, light, good battery, good screen, LED backlight, Backlit keyboard, WIDI, Bluetooth, USB 3.0, good processor, workable dedicated graphics for power, onboard graphics for power savings, keyboard has a very good layout, perfect in fact (I have owned and used a few dozen laptops and netbooks and quite a few keyboards are shit because of the layout, but not the zenbook)

Built in speakers are halfway decent for how tiny they are as well

Its a great laptop

Mine has a 620m, good enough for 90% of my steam library, cant really play Rainbow 6 Siege and the FPS on Fallout 4 isn't great, but the 940 they should both at least be playable

The first one is the only one with a 940, so if you want to play games that is the only choice, if you don't care about games (or only light games) then the 2nd one is quite a bit cheaper but has less ram, cpu power, memory, etc

I'd get a stronger laptop but what are your specific needs?

These ultrabooks aren't the strongest, but they are a hell of a lot lighter, thinner, better battery, and with an aluminum chassis ;-) The fit and finish alone is worth the extra
