So I'm looking to buy a 4790k probably around black friday/cyber monday if there's any good deals.

I'll need a new mobo though as mine doesn't support it. I know nothing about mobos and was wondering if there's anything I should keep an eye on in the weeks to come. Probably $200 range at most if possible.

Just look for the features you want.
If you want to overclock very high, google best overclocking board to see what people have to say.
Not all boards have all features. some have mroe usb 3.0, or optical audio, or better audio chips, etc.
motherboards, aside from features and overclockability, don't matter that much for the regular consumer.
