Buddy wanted me to see if I could throw something together that would run FO4 on medium/high for $450

Would need everything but Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse.

CASE AND ALL!

No way in hell.

$450 can barely build you a decent PC IMO, Let alone a high enough tier GPU to play fallout on.

Tell him to put more in the budget.

This will run fallout 4

Obviously, cannot say how well, but a similar build will run witcher at medium, 1080p
this is my video :)

750 ti is weaker than a 370 by a small bit.

:p
Pretty sure that 6300 overclocked some paired with that R9 380 will ez mode Fallout 4 in 1080p.

Have they even released the specs yet? I wasnt aware of how fucking cheap the 370/380 are now. Thought they were still like $300~

they did but they are wrong as shit :D

my friend maxed the battlefront beta on an old athlon (stock) and an R9 280.
my other friend could play it on medium, very smoothly, on a core 2 duo quad (same power as the athlon actually) and a gtx 750, but he would get some significant skipping, likely due to low vram (he had 4gb of ram, 1gb vram)

Im expected fallout to be maxed on similar hardware as my friends 280/athlon.

edit: Battlefronts, for comparison

witchers minimum
Minimum System Requirements

Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz
AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940
Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660
AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870
RAM 6GB
OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
DirectX 11
HDD Space 40 GB

Recommended System Requirements

Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3,4 GHz
AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770
AMD GPU Radeon R9 290
RAM 8GB
OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
DirectX 11
HDD Space 40 GB

Just an fyi ive gotten smooth frames out of witcher with dual cores + 4gb of ram. that video i posted only has 4gb of ram. (2gb vram)
so as we can see, minimum requirements are about as trustworthy as the government.

surely, but he really should have an ssd. if fallout 4 is anything like 3 or new vegas...the loading screens will be numerous.
