Hey guys!, i actually have a pretty old motherboard and processor and i was looking forward to upgrade them

im talking about a amd a8 3820 APU ( or ASUS F1A75-M) with a fm1 socket CM1740 as motherboard, wich is pretty lame since i own a gtx 760 and im not using it at it's full potential

im getting kind of crazy looking for a good motherboard, wich socket has the best architecture and wich one would you recommend for gaming?

my budget is around 350-400$ so im not looking for super high end products, but a nice upgrade

apreciatte your advice

I was looking forward for something like this, a friend of mine however recommended me to take a high end i3 instead of an i5 just because the difference would be almost unnoticeable.

Thanks for your advice, im still looking for the best matches

a 4460 would be a lot better than an i3, the i3 just has hyperthreading and doesn't have four real cores.

with that budget i'd go with this:

i'm using the same cpu and it's awesome

e/ I've actually had to RMA that exact mobo, this would be worth the extra 6 bucks imo

If that is your budget i see no reason to get an i3. yes it is similar to a 4460 for many games right now, but in time (just in a year or two), as games can make use of more cpu power, the i5 will pull ahead for you, especially if you overclock, and especially when dx12 becomes more relevant.

i prefer blunts suggestion, it's also my motherboard and processor ^_^ (4690k and msi gaming 5 board)
