Hey guys I am building a PC and have 0 clue on any of this,

I was recommended a site in Aus http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=67

As I am from NA but recently moved here and was told that's the cheapest by far

I just don't know what parts to buy etc, I was to be able to run games at a good speed with no lag or fps drops

$1000-$1400 is my budget looking for good clarity as well.

If anyone can please help this would be great

I did this
http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/kJM2dC

It has 240gb of storage, if you need more, i left room in the budget for changes.
You also didnt specify if the 1400 dollar budget included monitor or windows, etc.
it also has no wifi, so if you need that we can include a wifi dongle/internal card.
