Looking into getting a new headset/headphones. I play pretty much every kind of game (FPS, MMORPGs, MOBAs, etc), so I want them to be pretty efficient at everything. Being able to hear where footsteps are coming from is a must for me.

Was looking into Astros but I have something in the back of my head telling me they're just overpriced (not saying they're not good, though).

I've been hearing more and more of people going with a pair of Sennheiser heaphones and just grabbing a mic to go with them (I would get the mod mic). Any suggestions on what to do or what the best Sennheiser headphones would be? Looking to spend ~$200 CAD.

Thanks in advance, pals!

Thanks for the reply.

A Sennheiser headset or just the headphones? I'm currently struggling to figure out which headphones are decent (damn Google and it's millions of results!).

558 should be in your price range

A very cheap solution is the superlux hd681, for about $40

Audio Technica AD700X

Pair them with a DAC and headphone amp and a desktop or clip on mic and they are fantastically comfortable even when wearing them for hours

Total around $200 before mic

I have the AD700's (older model) and will be using this setup soon :-D

I like the HD558. They're a great all around headphone and very comfortable. You have a lot of options with your budget. Here's a good site to start: http://www.head-fi.org/a/headphone-buying-guide
