My CPU is an fx-8350 (AM3+ socket i believe?), it's currently running around 65C at peak performance and i'd like to get that lower if possible. Anyone have any advice on aftermarket cooling be it liquid or not?
Also if I don't have to get a new case that'd be ideal, i have slightly over 6 inches of clearance between CPU and side of the case.
Thanks in advance!

Hyper 212 with a couple aftermarket fans is the best you can get for the $$$

I run mine on stock clocks or minor overclocks using super low noise PWM fans in push/pull

put it in there with some AS5 and a couple high-flow fans and it is going to be one of the best coolers without spending $90

Most studies have shown push pull to either be incredibly poor performing or sometimes even worse than just a single fan.
But I will agree the evo will solve your issues and let you overclock to 4.4-4.6 ghz no issues.

go for a noctua nd14 for an air system
or corsair h80 hydro for liquid premade :)

I have an hyper evo 212 on my fx-6350 overclocked to 4.5 gets to about 54 on load.

Not sure how similar the heat generation is on those chips but very happy with the 212, I have just the stock fan on it on one side and an exhaust fan directly in the path of the fan on the cooler, as well as a second Exahust above. (not on the sink though)

Seems to work pretty well, not noisey or anything. (the second misaligned exhaust hardly changed the temps I basically got it to have a flashy LED on my case top :P

From what I've read push and pull has been proven to provide only marginal performance boost .in the case of single fan and 212, pull provided better performance (though, honestly can't remember if it was the + or evo model)

It may just be with the Hyper 212, which is a fairly slim heatsink, I have read that when the fans are too close (within 1 to 1.5" or so) the effectiveness drops, when I used to do it I had a massive heatsink, Sunbeam CR-CCTF, and I was using insane fans (Ultra-Kaze's) with it, I had really good results

Right now I have a 212+ in push/pull but using PWM fans, though I never overclock...the aftermarket sink was for silence not cooling
