Just bought an SSD and my copy of Windows 10 Pro is installed on the 1TB HDD that I have in my build.
The SSD will be here in a couple days from Newegg, but I figure i will start doing research now on what the process is that i have to go through to get this all sorted out.

Any info would be great. I'm sure this is relatively easy but I know there are greater minds on this forum than me, so like I said, advice is appreciated.

I'd probably go for a fresh install. Cloning 1tb to the hard drive could be a pain, especially if youve already got more stuff on your hard drive than the SSD has space.
Then once the fresh install is complete, plug in the hard drive and put all your necessary files on the ssd, then fresh format the hdd.

Yeah fresh install would be the idea since I was going to reformat anyways. How would I go about making sure Windows is installed on the SSD and not the HDD?

It gives you the option during the OS install.
I'd just unplug the HDD while you install the OS on the SSD to simplify things.

But is that necessary? Can I do a reformat using the built in tool in Win10 or should i get a copy of the OS on a flash drive

I don't know if thats a feature of windows 10. I would personally get a copy of the os on flash/disk.
I also would only keep the ssd plugged in just to make things simple.

Alright, i'll get a copy of Windows 10 online and put it on a flash drive.
