Old topic posted a few years back
I feel like it is time to upgrade my computer which I build nearly 4 years ago.
Could maybe use a few of the SSD's I have installed but that is it.

  • Budget: 1500$ / 13000NKR
  • More specific use (what games, what programs): Fallout 4 / WoW
  • Planned time until purchase: A month
  • Do you need an Operating System?: I bought Win 7 last time, can I reuse?
  • Do you have any specific preferred components?: Clean case, nothing fancy
  • Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No
  • Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: No overclocking
  • Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Want to replace Cm Storm keyboard and Nascita mice. Got monitors.
  • Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Irrelevant, free shipping from the site I'll use.
  • What are your preferences in case style?(lights, flashy, dull, etc): I like it clean and nothing flashy.
  • Are you planning to use multiple monitors?: Yes, I have 2* 27' monitors. Would like a graphics card with dual HDMI ports and my current only have one, other is on VGA.
  • Are you looking for upgrade-ability?: Somewhat, I tend to just buy everything new like now though.
  • Do you have any preferred brands?: No.
  • Can you reuse any components from an older build?: SSD's, not sure about anything else.
  • Is there anything else you think we should know?: I would like hella storage, I have 250 SSD and 300HDD now, which is too little. The HHD is old as in from the early 2000 old.

I want to be able to play Fallout 4 on really enjoyable settings, it might require a whole lot but still want an upgrade for the future as well.
My current desktop struggles a bit with the fps in The Witcher so I can imagine it won't get better with Fallout 4.
I have not looked at anything at all as I post, but will take a look at product while I wait for a response.
Will be using this site --> https://www.komplett.no/ But feel free to make a list on Newegg or anything else.
Thanks for any help!

Honestly, you don't have to replace your whole system. the only thing you need is a better graphics card. Your CPU is fine, and getting a new processor would make little difference.
grab yourself an r9 390, 8GB and call it a day. add some space in the form of a 1-2tb hdd or whatever you like.
Then youre done.

Everything else, wouldn't be replaced with anything better...just a new version of it, so you'd be kinda throwing away money at that point.

Well, my Corsair case is in somewhat pieces, I also need to power up the computer from the motherboard..
I also want a modular power supply, my current makes such a mess with so many unused cables.
Case has stayed open for years due to sidepanel does not stay in place, so all dusty and disgusting.
I have the money to buy a new computer, I rather not buy pieces here and there and fit it into halfasses case and motherboard, just feels wrong.
So please do suggest a complete build if you would like to help me out, I will buy a new one regardless.

What maufacturer of R9 390 8GB would the choice, any? The one with 3 fans? I can imagine that is better if this is the card that doesn't start the fans unless it goes over 60 degrees.

Whoever your favorite it is and/or whoever has the best warranty for your country.

So here's something i put together, I didnt max your budget for a few reasons. The driving force was because prices arent the same in every country due to the differences in currency values and various laws/taxes/import charges and selection wont be the same.

In general though you can substitute anything for a different brand. All ram is basically equal if youre not overclocking. Try and stick with an evga power supply, B2 or G2 series, though b2 is better priced.

Thanks.
I put this together on Komplett

They also sell complete builds which they build and ready for you. Very tempting and it looks like a beast.

Thoughts?
I guess it would be more expensive to buy all the parts separate, saving the time spent on assembly is also nice, so a win win.
It is a 190$ difference, which is irrelevant to me.
Rather pay someone professional to build it, eventhough it is easy.

^ $190 difference is huge,
ur comparing a better build with higher quality things vs. a shittier build with lesser quality things for $190 more
It's not all about the $$$, it's about the quality. Buy the things in ur cart, and then pay $190 to someone to build it = win win.
They'll gladly do it cos im sure they'd do it for around 50, nvm ur overpaying them 4x.

also get a different 2tb drive
