I have a 450w antec power supply & wanting to purchase a Sapphire Radeon HD 6870. Will it work?
Power supply is a Antec 450watt Model VP450. 80% max efficiency.

Thank you.

Depends on how many amps it provides on the 12v rail

some 450 watt PSus can power a mid-high graphics card, some cant

How much are paying for that 6870?
I almost bet you can get a lot better for the price.

The max you can spend is only 50 bucks? Personally I'd save like 70-100$ ? more, I know it sucks but get a worthwhile card, not a old 6870

I bought a R9 290 non ref cooler and backplate the other day for 140$

dont mind going $140 for a good video card.
but because of my case i have to stay under 9 inches. so i wont be getting the 6870.

The 250x is garbage
Buy this http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=GA-950OC2G&c=CJ
Well under 9 inches and destroys the 6870 and 250x

GTX 950 or 960 @$189.

Best under your 9" req for sure, assuming you're not willing to dish out more dough.

I just bought an R9 280x off Newegg for $140, more powerful than even a GTX 960, but it's nearly 10.5"; I could have also gotten an R9 290 for the same price but I need the ability to flash the bios with Mac EFI and run only on dual 6pins.
