Buying tomorrow probably.

I've been using AMD my whole life. Think it's time to make the jump to Intel. I've been out of the building game for a while considering I'm using a GTX770 and FX8350.

-Budget: $1500-$2000

-More specific use (what games, what programs): Dunno. I don't want it to struggle with anything.

-Planned time until purchase: 1-2 days

-Do you need an Operating System?: Yes. I have a pirated version of Win7 Ultimate 64bit, so I'd like to get a genuine copy. I'm open to Win10 if it's worth it.

-Do you have any specific preferred components?: Been using AMD, think it's time for Intel. Nvidia GPU only. Rest is whatever. I like Corsair when they're on sale.

-Do you need a sound or wireless card?: No

-Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Possibly. Will need aftermarket CPU cooler. Stock ones are always too loud. I have an H80 on my 8350.

-Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Not required. I have to non matching 24in monitors. One is 1920x1200 and the other is 1920x1080. Little annoying. Would be nice to have 144hz.

-Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 83651

If possible, I like it when there's a color match. Currently have red/black. It's not a requirement, but would be nice if you want to put forth that much effort.

I also have a relatively new 850w gold Corsair PSU in my current.

Thanks.

Used corsair parts, where applicable
Case, mobo, RAM, PSU, cooler are all black

I went with a new PSU since this way you can resell your old PC

Windows 8.1 included, but if you find a student and purchase it that way it will be $30-40 less

You will need thermal compound and likely a few more fans for best airflow

Comes in at $1836 without monitor

you could easily cut down to $1500 by going with a slightly cheaper i7, different SSD, less RAM, cheaper CPU cooler, cheaper mobo, etc

for this type of budget if your looking to run max setting, why not have atleast 2400mhz ram selected???? why Toshiba HDD over WD Black Series ??? why not win 10 if going for next gen processor?

this is how i would do it

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kCVbMp

changed Mobo to Gigabyte, Changed ram to Gskill 2400mhz, change hdd to WD BLACK SERIES and down to 2tb, added disc drive (dumb not to have it since they are so dang cheap)

>micro atx mobo
>reference cooler on card

I don't know how they are today, but the last two reference cards I had were leaf blowers.

Also, you can still upgrade to 10 for free.
