So I found a $400 budget build on pcpartpicker and I was curious if it was actually good, or if I should keep looking. If this build isn't very good for the price, I'd of course love some help finding a decent gaming computer for around this price.

http://pcpartpicker.com/guide/8BrxFT/399-bang-for-buck-pc-build-intel-g3258gtx-750ti

I primarily want to play that new ARK: Survival Evolved game, LFD2, Mw2, Cod4, Path of Exile, and other random crap.

I live in the us, I don't need a monitor, keyboard, or a mouse.

Please keep in mind this is the one part of computers I don't really understand, so any help would be amazing.

I'd prefer around $400 ish, but I'd be willing to go up to $500

I'd go with the second build but upgrade to a cheap locked i5. Dual core gaming can suck sometimes, I've been there with the g3258 and some games were unplayable, even at 4.7 ghz

I'd personally go with the g3258 build for 400, and if you wanted to spend more just add the 950 to it instead of the 750 ti, since it will give you some graphics boost. For all those games the pentium will work, and many games have workarounds you can do to run it with a 2 core.
I dont personally know of a game that can be run on a dual core. Even witcher 3 runs fine on one with 4gb of ram.

I wasn't able to play witcher 3 with my g3258, sure the game ran and sometimes I got lucky and it wouldn't freeze too much but most of the time the game would freeze for 2-5 seconds at a time every minute or so. I had an on screen display and it happened exactly when cpu load would reach 100%. This happened regardless of clock speeds and as soon as I upgraded to a 4690k I never froze again.

Exactly, at the same time though I don't regret that pentium purchase. Was fun to learn overclocking on and it's performance for 85 Canadian bucks is pretty impressive. Aside from witcher 3, I played heroes of the storm on it at max settings and it ran great, but couldn't handle listening to music on SoundCloud while playing. At the end of the day I had fun with that thing and only lost $30 cad reselling it

Must have been something in your settings that was causing your issues. I got pretty smooth gameplay with mine. I got the occasional stutter but it was not as bad as you decribe and not honestly enough to make me or most people care.
