This really will serve as a log/discussion of my sky lake build. i have some solid peripherals and spare parts from my old setup so im really only looking to put together a new tower. Here is what ive come up with

*Mushkin fanboy checking in.

All of my old case fans are red led as well so i think the black and red across the board will look good. i may look into a better watercooling system so i can throw some more red into the whole thing :)

Thoughts?

Hmm, i guess from a price point, SLI 970 would be better, but longevity the 980ti would probably be better with the additional VRAM. The 2 seem to be about the same, really just depends on the game and settings as sometimes ones outperforms the other. Dunno if i could justify going from just under 1100 to mid 1500's :| tough choices

this would probably be the gskill id pick

this is also a nice combo right up my alley:

I'm looking at ek water blocks but my knowledge of custom built loops is minimal. If I wanted to put a loop in on the cpu and gpu (for the sake of this let's say 1x 980) how would I do so properly

Just get a 980ti, If you feel you need more fps down the road, Grab a second one.

You do a LOT of research into the subject. One fuck up & your entire pc is fried.

I pussied out, Picked up a Nzxt g10 + x41 combo for my 980's

55c~ max temps :)

These are the same price, The same cl 15, but 3,000mhz.

/e also 850w is way more than needed

you can comfortably run 970/980/980ti sli with 750w
