i3 will get slightly better performance in some applications since it is hyperthreaded. Otherwise, similar.

The g3258 is better for gaming..beats the 860k at stock clocks when the 860k is at 4.4

I believe FarCry 4 is one right? But their is ways around that and it runs fantastic.
