TL; DR: Peep my build, comment, suggest, etc. Budget is ~800 CAD and I really like the case.

Hey guys, I'm looking to get into building my first PC. At the moment I really only play League of Legends so I'd like to have something that can max it out with ease and maybe play some other titles in the future. Also would like to try out HOTS but my laptop can barely handle it lol.

This is the build I've come up with: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/8CnNVn

This is pretty much topping out my budget btw, don't really want to pay much more than this at the moment but don't mind spending more in the future. I also already have a laptop and I know my 120 GB will fill up fast but that's okay cuz laptop

I want to have a good time building this thing, and have headroom for upgrading things, liquid cooling or potentially overclocking.

The case is pretty expensive relative to the rest of my build but I've heard great things about it, being noob friendly, good design, cooling, cable management, etc. and it looks amazing. I'm pretty set on it but if there are some other options that look just as good and would provide me with a fun building experience lmk.

Please take a look at the build and let me know what you think, or provide some suggestions.

Also I live in Canada and NCIX has a pickup location in my city so I'd like to purchase from them to avoid shipping costs (they price match everything that doesn't have a special promotion like mail in rebates or w.e)

Nothing too bad about it. The case is a bit pricey, and I think if you are trying to look forward, I would probably find a way to drop just a bit more on the PSU.

Currently its overkill, but it's the best priced option. Anything thats slightly cheaper than this [10-15 dollars] its significantly worse than this.

It will save you money down the road to buy this PSU now rather than upgrading to it in the future. This is the only piece of hardware can actually spend more money on now to save money down the road.
it has a 5 year warranty [will likely last longer] and is one of the best quality PSU's you can buy at an affordable price. So please do consider it.

Thanks man, good call on the PSU, I'll definitely consider it since it falls in line with what I'm looking to do and seems like a good value.

Would the 430W be able to support the current setup with a liquid cooling system and an HDD added in though? That's the first upgrade I'll be looking at and it's going to be a looong time before I decide to upgrade the GPU or CPU. If the 430W is enough for this setup + a liquid cooler & HDD, I still might hold off on buying a better PSU until I actually do upgrade the other components.

The 430 wat is definitely fine for that and 10 hdds. I thought you were looking to upgrade within the next year or two, so i was aiming to save you the trouble and money.

Water cooling is pretty extravagant though. You'd do really well with an Evo 212 unless you were really committed to water cooling for looks or something.

i3 is yucky.
no bueno. XD

-Cant overclock
-Games dont use hyper threading, so this is just a dual core for that.

If you did go intel I'd suggest taking a look at the Pentium G3258. Amazing Chip. It's cheap, overclocks like a beast on the stock cooler. Its per-core performance is on par with an i5-4690k.
Otherwise, Id stick with 6300 :]

Really? It's so cheap though lol

If that's true it'd be nice and I could save some money

The pentium is cheap? Thats part of its beauty. Ive made several budget builds with them. thrown in an R9 270 and it maxes almost everything at 1080p and gets great frames. Its able to run a mix of medium/high for the Witcher 3 and get good frame rates. :)

The alternative beauty to the pentium is that it uses the same socket as the i5...so you can just pick up an i5 if you're ready to upgrade!
Would get a z97 board though if you want to go that route, this way you wont have to consider buying a new mobo for the i5.
