Have $1000 budget. Unsure on the best for the price. Any suggestions?
Primary reason for use would be infrequent gaming.
Secondary reason would be school-related.

*A bit over budget is fine

For around 1k you aren't gonna beat a i7, 960, ssd combo
Maybe buy a "used" one..like one thats MINT

A guy I know around here (not a friend but he frequently sells gaminf pcs and laptops on craigslist) was selling a Asus Rog 17.3" laptop with a i7, 500gb Samsung ssd, Gtx 970, nice rog laptop bag etc for 850$

So deals can be found

You can pick up an ASUS GL551JW-DS71 from XoticPC for $1066 ($966 w/ MIR)

It's pretty much the same thing as the Lenovo with 16gb ram instead of 8GB.

E: Could drop the HDD and save an extra $60 leaving it at $900, then purchase a 256gb SSD for $100 and a 1tb HDD for $40.
