Whats his budget and whats his current system spec?

budget is 800 for gpu motherboard and cpu
old motherboard fried, rest of his stuff is 5+ years old

has a new case and power supply like 1 year old


also whats best cheapest case thats decent

And those are nice parts. Depending if he wants a SSD or not that may be worth while thinking about if you were to wait for the new AMD line to drop costs a bit.

can go with EVGA's factory OC'd acx 2.0 for $307.99 after MIR
or
Asus Strix / Msi Twin Frozr for cheaper

no point going gigabyte unless it's a g1 version @ that price point

not by much and especially for extra $50 it's not worth
i rather pay $40-50 more to up it to i7
