Hi there, I just posted in your other thread, but i'll reiterate on some stuff as it's different.
That board is a bit overkill. It's not a bad board but you can get something that is just as good for about 20-40 dollars cheaper, at minimum.

Corsair power supplies are "acceptable" but for 85 dollars you're better off getting something higher quality.

Again, unless he specifically needs the i7 for some kind of work load, I don't recommend it for gaming. The I5 has the exact same performance on gaming.

That display is also pretty weak compared to how badass the PC is. Definitely spend more on the display or spend less on the pc. I wouldn't get a gtx 980 unless he was doing 1440p or something more than 1080p.

Yeah he uses i7 for CAD and Design. I will look onto that new PSU. what do you mean by spending more on the display? better monitor?

Oh okay, Sorry for stressing that. We get people in here often who try to buy an I7 just because its more expensive and "better" but don't know that they don't need it. ^_^

Feel free to check out this PSU tier list. it's not totally comprehensive but it's pretty good.

the B2 that i linked you to is top quality. Corsair is great too, just not that model for 85 bucks ;D

And yes, I would recommend a better monitor. It's not bad and you don't have to, It's just disproportionately basic compared to the PC.
I would make an exception if you are buying 2 or 3 of them.

This ofc.

I'm not a monitor buff, So I don't know that I have a good recommendation.
I would simply look at either a multi-monitor setup for Cad. A single monitor setup would be more geared towards gaming.

Asus makes great monitors. Here is a 27 inch IPS @ 1440p resolution:

Otherwise I would consider 2 of something a little smaller and cheaper

again Im not a buff, just providing some guiding info. I don't know how cost effective my choices are, but those are decent displays, to say the least.

Edit: I see z97 lurking, I hope he has some better input for you than I do :D

Monitor is preference.

Dell makes some really good looking displays (colors etc), but all their monitors to my knowledge are 60 Hz at most so that 980 would be overkill.

The VG248QE I think looks great for being a TN panel and puts out the butter smooth refresh rate.
