Here is my current setup, and you guys helped me put it all together a few years ago!
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kPkK8d

I'd like to upgrade it's performance for gaming, specifically FFXIV: ARR. I can run the game on max settings, outside of raid at around 40ish FPS but would prefer 60 during a raid. So I'm here to ask which pieces are most crucial and least crucial for upgrading performance? I don't have a price range yet but I don't care to replace everything but would rather upgrade what I have. Lmk if I need to clear anything up.

Also, I'd like to consider an SSD for my OS and gaming.

Whats your budget?
Generally speaking graphics is most important. though idk how CPU heavy FFXIV is.

My budget depends on how many pieces I should replace. Given my current set up, which pieces should I replace first for increasing graphics and game performance? For right now don't worry about a budget, but be conscious of me not wanting to build an entirely new PC.

okay well i suggest this:
with a used 3570k off ebay
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9bmk3C

If you cant do both, then get just the graphics card.

Edit: you can spend less on your GPU, but your PSU being so low in voltage limits your options.

I'd probably go with the 120gb SSD (unless you can convince me otherwise) just because I'd only store my OS and a few games. Would getting this GPU hold me back down the road if I eventually upgrade my PSU?

And you're suggesting a new PCU, GPU and potentially PSU, correct? Will my mobo suffice with your suggested PCU upgrade?

120gb is fine if thats all you need.

I'll try to stay in order.
Having any GPU wouldn't impact what kind of PSU you could buy, other than you would need to be sure it was as powerful enough to power it.

I only suggest the CPU if you buy it used, they dont make them anymore. This way you dont have to switch mobo or anything and can resell your i3

Lastly, you would only need a PSU upgrade if you got a higher energy consuming GPU.

Is my i3 holding me back or is the i5 you're suggesting supposed to compliment the GPU for overall performance upgrading?

And how does this piece look? http://www.***com/itm/Intel-3570K-3-4-GHz-Quad-Core-BX80637I53570K-Processor-/281698535993?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41968a8a39

^^ ehh, I'm sure you're familiar with njag not liking ebay links and know how to work it

If anyone else has some suggestions for me, don't hesitate! I haven't purchased anything yet but I might have to purchase this i5 from ebay before it closes.

#1 3570k
#2 GPU / PSU
#3 SSD

or

#1 Current Gen CPU/Mobo
#2 GPU / PSU
#3 SSD

really depends on your budget, I wouldn't go with option 2 until skylake comes out with their unlocked processors (august/september)

if you can hold out until then, I would wait for that, then go with option #2

So if I wait for skylake S cpu, probably i5 since it would be cheaper, I would need a new mobo, cpu, gpu and the preferred ssd. and potentially psu. Seems like I should just do the SSD, GPU and SSD and just upgrade my mobo/cpu in like 5 years after these upgrades. With the SSD, GPU and CPU atm, I'm looking at around $500 and that's more than half of what I paid to put my desktop together (including accessories and monitor).
