You're going to be enabling Developer Mode and installing Wine, I take it?

/e

Flashdrive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233566
+10% Off with EMCASNN59 promo code.
Makes it $36.

You won't really get a HDD much bigger than that for the same price.

Tell me more. I'm not sure what that means. I have to install something on the computer so it works? having to disable something in which case things will run different?

I feel so stupid no its just a usb attachment that allows you to install games on a small computer that doesn't fit discs.

See the linked Flash Drive for the storage.

In terms of what I said originally, Chromebooks run on ChromeOS. They don't natively support Windows applications like Diablo II. In order to play Diablo II on a Chromebook, you'll have to enable developer mode on it. Once you have developer mode enabled, you can install something like Crouton which will enable you to dual boot Linux and ChromeOS (since ChromeOS is based on Linux) and then you can install Wine to emulate windows programs.

Will run Diablo II and Runescape fine. Although, you'll want to upgrade it to 4GB of RAM if you want to play Runescape HD without lag.

You're still in the same boat. To play either game on a Chromebook, you'll need to enable dev mode and dual boot Linux. Runescape runs on Java (although there is a beta HTML5 version). Also, even with the flash drive, you'll still have to install Wine to play D2. The flash drive is just storage. It doesn't emulate windows or anything.
