Does the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo heatsink fit on the MSI P55-GD65 Motherboard?

motherboard:

Heatsink:

I'm currently installing the first anchor screws for the heatsink but the screws are too big for the motherboard.
Did I buy the wrong one?

Correction: The standoffs don't fit into the motherboard holes for the cpu heatsink.

Am I doing something wrong?

I watched other people install their standoffs in their motherboard and they just fit right in....

You may have to contact Cooler Master. I seem to remember that depending on when you bought it you may not have the right bracket.

I know there's You Tubes about installation...etc.

There a download...a .pdf, with install instructions.

Also, the bracket seems to fit, just the standoffs don't fit at all into my motherboard holes.

adjust the x to make it fit the holes,
then tighten it little by little, rotating by each corner

Well, the issue is that the standoffs (which the x screws into) do not fit into the motherboard

I cannot tell if I'm doing something wrong or if the heatsink is defective

it's universal... just play around with it and you will eventually figure it out
you are using the intel side and aligning it behind the mobo right?
