Looking at options for a laptop that will be used for:
Gaming (possibly newer high-end games, but do not have to be played on insane settings)
Writing documents (word, excel, PP)
Web-browsing
Looking to spend $1200 at most (if possible)
Would like to stay under 15.6" MAX
I want DECENT battery life (Approx. 4+ hours of gaming)
So any suggestions?

I'd like it to be mobile. I know it will be more expensive, and upgrading later isn't really an option.
Maybe someone could weigh-in on the comparable costs of the same specs of a desktop vs laptop

In terms of just power, a 2000 dollar laptop could be built for about 650 dollars as a desktop.

Thanks for the heads up. I kinda figured it would be 2-3 times the cost
